Give a library or study an ancient Egyptian focal point with this portrait of Pharaoh Amenhotep III wearing the Blue Crown. The source sculpture is held by the Cleveland Museum of Art, which dates it to c. 1391-1353 BCE, during Egypt's New Kingdom and Dynasty 18. Its full mouth, almond-shaped eyes and broad crown give the portrait a composed presence on a shelf or desk.
The Blue Crown, also called the Khepresh, was worn by New Kingdom pharaohs in battle and ceremonies. The original crown was once painted blue, with a yellow browband. This portrait preserves the surviving fragment and its aged surfaces, making it a thoughtful gift for an Egyptology enthusiast, museum visitor or history reader.
Made to order in PLA, available in Ivory White, Marble Stone or Charcoal Black and 5, 9 or 12 inch heights. These finishes are surface appearances; the replica is not granodiorite, marble or bronze. Intended for indoor display.
