Gandhara Buddha Bust, Ancient Portrait Sculpture for a Library or Study

Bring a calm focal point to a library, study or contemplative corner with this Buddha portrait head, adapted from an anonymous Gandhara sculpture in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam. The museum dates the original to 300-399 CE and identifies its wavy hair, raised forehead mark and topknot as features of the Buddha's image.

The original is a fragment, and its surviving contours and weathered surface are preserved in this portrait. The modest lower neck has a level underside, without an added pedestal. Its quiet expression makes it a thoughtful gift for a Buddhist art enthusiast, museum collector or reader who enjoys historic sculpture.

Made to order in PLA, with a choice of Ivory White, Marble Stone or Charcoal Black. Select a 5, 9 or 12 inch height to suit a shelf or desk. Each finish is a surface appearance; this piece is not stone or bronze. Intended for indoor display.
